Your first visit

What actually happens when you walk in.

First visits run about 45 minutes. There's no rush, no clipboard handoff to a stranger, and no waiting in a hallway in a paper gown. Here's the whole arc.

— 01
Park & come in
Free lot off SW Emkay. We're the door with the green awning. Stroller-friendly entrance.
— 02
A real hello
Maya or Tess will check you in. Kids get a sticker and a book to borrow from our wall.
— 03
Vitals, gently
Heights, weights, temps in a quiet room — not a hallway. We don't pin little kids down.
— 04
Time with your doctor
25 minutes, scheduled. Bring every question. We'll talk through sleep, feeding, school, mood.
— 05
A plan, written down
You leave with a printed summary, the after-hours number, and your next visit on the calendar.
Meet the practice

Two pediatricians and one nurse practitioner. That's it — on purpose.

We see roughly 1,400 families. Small enough that Dr. Chen knows your kid's middle name; large enough to keep same-day slots open. Nobody's leaving for a hospital group.

Dr. Aria Chen
MD · Pediatrics, 12 yrs · OHSU

Aria opened Pinecrest in 2015 after eight years in a Portland group practice that felt too big to do good work. She handles newborns, adolescent care, and most of the complicated-feeding conversations. She and her partner live in NW Crossing with two boys and a stubborn cattle dog.

Dr. Sam Rodriguez
MD · Pediatrics, 9 yrs · UW Medicine

Sam joined in 2019 from a rural clinic in John Day, and brings a calm, plainspoken way of explaining things to anxious parents (and anxious 9-year-olds). He runs our sports-physical program, all asthma management, and the school-form pipeline. Skis Mt. Bachelor most Saturdays.
